VoiceVision Ten Year Anniversary Celebration & Website Launch

11 Apr 2010

On April 11th 2010, Voice Vision celebrated its 10th Anniversary along with the launch of the new and interactive website, www.voicevision.in
The venue was the R. M. Alpaiwala conference hall of the National Asociation for the blind , Worli, Mumbai India.
A total of 75+ members attended the event. The program was compeered by Hetal & Sameer, who managed the show flawlessly.

The event started off with a presentation conducted by Shriram. The presentation was all about showcasing the journey of Voice Vision right from 2000 to 2010. He spoke of how Voice Vision was born, the lives that it has changed, how it went beyond computer training by increasing the bonding among the students through regular get togethers, the birth of the mailing list, and the inclusion of parents and family members into the VV family. He concluded with a glance into the future plans of VV like, soft skills & online training, and the creation of Voice Vision’s new and interactive website.

This was followed by an introduction to this new website, voicevision.in, conducted by Vanessa. She gave everyone a brief run through of the different modules that we have incorporated on the website. For example, the NGO section, where we have detailed information of NGO’s from across the country, the reader writer section, where those looking for reader writers can search for one, and those willing to volunteer can get themselves registered, the parents guide section, which is for the parents and family members where they can share their experiences, the link for the mailing list, where all those interested can join the list and share views and post queries, the course listing of the institute, the success stories section, where those aspiring to do something in life could find guidance, and lastly the Voice Vision blog, where everyone who has registered to the site can share their views on any topic that they wish to discuss.

The designers of the website Mr. Rahul Iyer & Mr. Rajas Abhyankar from R & R Technologies were then called upon the stage, and asked to share their experiences that they had while designing the website.

We then had the website launch carried out by Mr. & Mrs. Bubna, which was commenced by lighting of the lamp before the Sarasvati statue, with Tulsi singing the Ganesh vandana and Divya singing the Sarasvati vandana in the background. This was followed by the clicking of the button for the launch of the website, followed by a few words by Mr. Bubna.

We then had a session where the students, parents and the mailing list members came down to the floor and shared the experiences and memories that they had at Voice Vision.

This was all followed by a speech by the chief guest for the event, Dr. S. Natarajan, who graced the occasion with his presence. He has been the inspiration behind the vision of the institute Voice Vision, and hence his presence was of utmost importance. He shared a lot of knowledge with regards to treatments available and also shared a few ideas through a very interactive Q&A session.

The launch part of the program was concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sushmeetha B. Bubna followed by the cutting of the cake by Sushmeetha with the youngest student of Voice Vision, Krishna.

However, the program didn’t end there! The fun part was yet to come!
After the delicious lunch that was served, it was time for games. We played and played and ended it all up with a session of Antakshri.
All in all the event was a huge success and all attendees had a wonderful! amazing! superb time!

For this we would like to thank all the students, parents and family members, NGO’s reader writers, mailing list members and those members from out of Bombay who specially attended this event. This success would not have been possible without you. We also thank all of those people who have been responsible for the behind the scenes part of the event, namely, Shriram, Tejvir, Hetal, Sameer, Lavina, Vanessa, & Rajesh, who was a part of it although not in the foreground. A special thanks to Tulsi and Divya for the singing during the launch. We also thank the chief guest Dr. Natarajan for gracing the occasion. And a very special thanks to Rahul & Rajas without whom our new website would have probably remained a dream. A thank you to Sushmeetha madam’s family who were of tremendous help during the program. And of course not forgetting the staff of Ascent networks pvt ltd for all their help and support. And last but definitely not least a big thank you to NAB and their staff for all the help they offered.
