First aid workshop – Blind Welfare

Ms. Sushmeetha Bubna ,founder director, Voice Vision -a leading NGO in Goregaon, Mumbai – providing computer training to visually challenged persons for the past several years, organised a one-day workshop on first Aid for 30 visually challenged children of our Mumbai IE program, on November 16, 2013,at our Andheri centre. Volunteers of Voice Vision, besides providing preliminary information on first aid, demonstrated using dummies, first aid techniques to attend to accident , burn, injury and heart attacks victims. The workshop also imparted basic first aid skills in arresting bleeding ,giving artificial respiration, bandaging etc., and taught the children how to call for an ambulance in an emergency situation. Every child was trained involving hand-over-hand approach.
