Voice Vision helps persons with disabilities find a suitable life partner- Blind welfare

To assist people across disabilities have their dream of marriage realized Voice Vision organized a Matrimonial Get-together in Mumbai at Golden Leaf Banquets on February 3, 2013. Forty persons with disabilities and their parents attended the program. The resource persons – writer and gender & disability activist Ms. Nidhi Goyal; clinical psychologists from ADAPT Ms. Kruti Shah, Ms. Meena Ramdas and Ms. Vinita Kadam; and Ms. Upasna Saraf, clinical psychologist and HR head pf Bombay Cambridge School – used tactful and sensitive approach to guide the participants and their parents during the sessions that were separately held for both groups. Two couples with disabilities – Sonali & Rahul Kelapure and Kavisha and Kinnar Shah – were also invited to share the secrets of their successful marriage. After felicitations and vote of thanks, the participants and their families mingled with each other at the high-tea organized by Golden leaf Banquets.

Thanks are due to Golden Lead Banquets for the beautiful venue and impeccable arrangements; the resource persons, particularly Ms. Goyal who conceptualised and executed the entire event; our volunteers – MBA students of St. Francis Institute of Research and Management College, Mira Road – in particular; and finally all the participants and their families, especially those who came all the way from Navi Mumbai, Pune and Madhya Pradesh to take part in the event.
